Guest Post from Arcadian Home Blog!
Hello, everyone! It's Mari from Arcadian Home blog, a great place to find beautiful and interesting home decor inspirations. I'm so happy to be visiting here at the lovely Trunks Beach Couture with a guest post about chic seaside spaces.
To fuel your design imagination, I've pulled together eight of my favorite beach house rooms. I hope they will inspire your decorating dreams. Remember, you don't have to have an ocean view to create chic rooms with appealing seaside style. Please enjoy!
Light, airy and gorgeous, this kitchen has lots of beach house appeal. I love the way the tile backsplash goes all the way to the ceiling behind that lovely stainless steel range hood. The wood on the breakfast bar, ceiling and surrounding floor is a beautiful contrast to the all-white painted cabinets.
This dining room and the stunning ocean view beyond make for a perfect pair. How beautiful that hanging light fixture is--so right for this space.
Tiles in watery hues, chunky stone countertop, warm antiqued cabinet and two small paintings come together to create a subtle charming beach bath.
Created by designer Victoria Hagan, this blue bedroom is as beautiful as its view of the sea. My favorite element in the space is the cleverly hung pale drapery panels at the windows and stunning arched door.
This masculine bedroom also has a beautiful ocean view. Combining a mix of tans with a bit of deep blue, it's at once chic, warm and inviting.
Just what every chic seaside space needs—a pristine white boat with varnished wood trim. This one hangs from the ceiling by a rope which ends in a stylish coil on the floor. Another, much smaller, but lovely touch is the unique hanging lantern.
This tall, slightly rustic, space is filled with chic neutral beauty. It's a calm soothing environment that lets the ocean view be the focal point of the room.
A Mabley Handler design is everything we imagine the perfect seaside dining room should be. With a palette of sea glass, ocean blue and brilliant white, it's a chic and lively space. Images 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8

Recipe of the Week: Balsamic Roasted Brussel Sprouts
This recipe is from Ina's new cookbook "Foolproof." It is a great side and easy! Can't wait to try out other recipes from this book.
Serves 6
1½ pounds Brussels sprouts, trimmed and cut in half through the core
4 ounces pancetta, sliced ¼ inch thick
¼ cup good olive oil
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 tablespoon syrupy balsamic vinegar (see note)
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Place the Brussels sprouts on a sheet pan, including some of the loose leaves, which get crispy when they’re roasted. Cut the pancetta into ½-inch dice and add to the pan. Add the olive oil, 1 ½ teaspoons salt, and ½ teaspoon pepper and toss with your hands. Spread out the mixture in a single layer.
Roast the Brussels sprouts for 20 to 30 minutes, until they’re tender and nicely browned and the pancetta is cooked. Toss once during roasting. Remove from the oven, drizzle immediately with the balsamic vinegar, and toss again. Taste for seasonings and serve hot.
